We SEE Above & Beyond publishes articles, case studies, and guides about structural engineering in practice — the decisions, designs, and collaborations that shape how buildings perform. Our content is built on real projects and real expertise, and we rely on people in the architecture, engineering and construction fields to help us find them.

What we're looking for

We cover the full range of structural engineering's role in the built environment. Topics of particular interest include adaptive reuse and building conversion, sustainability and resilience, innovative structural materials, historic preservation, seismic and hazard mitigation, and projects where creative structural involvement shaped a building's cost, performance, or design in meaningful ways.

We're interested in stories at any scale — from a single-family renovation to a major civic project — as long as there's something instructive or worth knowing.
